New order

Built from the payment terms. How this compares to today.

  1. 1. Route
  2. 2. Customer
  3. 3. Vehicle
  4. 4. Quote
  5. 5. Dates
  6. 6. Review

Where is the van coming from?

This is the only new thing to learn, and it’s the same question the payment terms ask. Each route has its own deposit and its own stages; four of the five then run the same conversion process.

Vehicle stages — Factory ordered vehicle

  1. 1Order confirmed
  2. 2Manufacturer builds — lead times can move
  3. 3Balance before delivery, or per the manufacturer's schedule
  4. 4Vehicle arrives

Unique to this route. An in-stock campervan would show the 14-day rule here instead.

Then the conversion process

  1. Final specification approvalAll four before any work begins

Quotation approved, specification confirmed, colours and finishes selected, any customer-supplied equipment agreed.

  2. Conversion deposit — 50%Before materials are ordered

Due 6–8 weeks before the scheduled start, and no later than 4 weeks before.

  3. Parts ordered and build starts

Changes after this point may cost more or move the date.

  4. Quality control and road test

Full inspection, road test, clean and prepare.

  5. Final payment — 50%Nothing is released until it clears

Cleared funds before or on the collection date.

  6. Collection and handover

    Allow 2–3 hours.

Identical for every route that reaches it — and for a customer’s own van, this is the whole order.

Things the terms say, that the portal can do for you

All of these are written down already. None of them are enforced by the current portal — they rely on somebody remembering.

  • Reservation and booking deposits are normally non-refundable

Shown when a deposit is recorded

  • In-stock campervans: 50% falls due if collection is over 14 days after reservation

Calculated, not remembered — appears in the customer's schedule

  • Conversion deposit due 6–8 weeks before build start, minimum 4 weeks

A dated task on the staff board, chased automatically

  • No parts ordered until the specification is approved and 50% has cleared

Parts ordering stays locked on the active jobs board

  • Nothing is released until all balances are cleared

Handover cannot be completed with money outstanding

  • Quotations valid 30 days

Quote shows its expiry; staff see it lapsing

  • Storage charges may apply after 7 days uncollected

Flagged on the order once the collection date passes

  • Ownership stays with Taylored until invoices are paid in full

Stated on the customer's payment schedule
